Introduction

Hey everyone, my name is Jill and I am a senior this year at Ship.  I am a biology/ Pre-physical therapy major.  I am planning to attend graduate school fall 2011 to get my a Doctorate in physical therapy.  I am currently waiting to hear back from grad schools.

I really enjoy both watching and playing sports.  My favorite sports to play are tennis and volleyball, but I also like throwing football and hitting golf balls. My favorite sport to watch on tv is NBA basketball.  My favorite team is the New Orleans Hornets.  I attended a Hornets vs. Mavericks game on one of my many trips to Louisiana and have been a fan ever since.

Some of my other interests are spending time outdoors especially in warmer weather.  I like to swim, hike, and go fishing.  I also like to read when I am outside especially in the summer by the pool or on the beach when I have more free time.  I enjoy reading realistic fiction.  The last book I finished was Oxygen by Carol Cassella. I am currently reading Stiff- The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach.  This may seem like an unusual book to read, but I will have to take Gross Anatomy my first semester in grad school which will include a cadaver lab. I am unsure of how I am going to react to my first encounter with the cadaver lab so I thought reading this might help ease my mind a little.  It is a fascinating book, and I would recommend it to anyone.

I absolutely love music and have my ipod with me all the time.  I listen to country, rap, r&b, rock/alternative, etc.  I like a little bit of everything. I love Lil Wayne's music, but I also love Eric Church. I also enjoy watching movies.  Some of my favorites are Deja Vu, The Express, The Hangover, The Wedding Planner, and Remember the Titans.  As far as video games, I never really liked playing them until I owned a Wii.  I absolutely love playing Wii games that get you up and moving.

I chose this class because it will give me the opportunity to read books that I normally would not choose to read.  This is also one of the last general ed. requirements I need so that I can graduate in May.  My past experience with literature has been good.  My english teacher senior year in high school had us read a lot of books and spend a lot of time analyzing and interpreting them.  One of the books I liked the most from that class was The Great Gatsby.  Literature in my opinion is authors' individual expressions, thoughts, and feelings about the world.

  2. I really like your fish tank, first of all. We also have the same taste in music, and I think that's rare because most people can't listen to both rap and country,it has to be one or the other.
